unique youngstar 2017: The winners have been selected

Winner: Jessica Bruni „Pflanzen Talje“, Germany

On the first day of spoga+gafa one of the highlights was the announcement of the “unique youngstar” – this years competition for young designers. The plant bag “Pflanzen Talje” designed by Jessica Bruni convinced the expert jury the most, securing first place and thus the title “unique youngstar 2017”. Two other prizes and a public prize have been awarded.

The award ceremony for the unique youngstar competition took place at the premium segment garden unique in hall 10.2. The prizes for the best ideas of young designers on the theme Outdoor Living were selected by an expert jury from among 15 nominated products. “Pflanzen Talje” by German designer Jessica Bruni is a plant bag and a room designing measure. It is modular and a conceptual indicator. It works following the pulley process (Talje is sailor jargon for pulley).

Second place: Pieter Städler „Städler Made Outdoor Oven“, Netherlands

The second place went to the “Städler Made” outdoor oven by Dutch designer Pieter Städler. The flexible bench “Sitzend stehend Leute” by Ámelie Ikas and Chris Walter were awarded with the third prize.

Third place: Chris Walter und Amélie Ika „Sitzend stehend Leute“, Germany

Israel designer Shoham Samuel with the outdoor reuse product “Digger” received a special mention and came out on top in the running for the public prize.

The prototypes of all 15 nominated ideas will be exhibited in Hall 10.2 throughout the duration of the trade fair. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all the designers for their participation!
