Husqvarna Starts Automower Testing Campaign

Hundreds of gardens in Germany, Great Britain and Scandinavia are being equipped with mowing robots by Husqvarna.

Not long ago, people had to sacrifice a lot of time when it came to mowing their lawns. The technology of automated mowing robots changed that and presented garden owners with a modern and comfortable alternative to scythes and lawnmowers. Husqvarna is one of the pioneers of the lawnmower robots: They have been part of their product range for over 20 years now, giving home owners the chance to sit comfortably on the terrace while the mowing is getting done by itself.

With the Automower challenge, Husqvarna wants to equip people in  Germany, UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark with their latest models and strengthen their market position while learning more about the performance.

Individual testers and families can apply for the Automower challenge until the end of March, by giving information about them and their gardens. In every country 100 testers are being chosen by Husqvarna. They all get an Automower worth at least 2.499 € to be tested on their private property. The devices will be installed by local specialized dealers who will also be available for advice during the whole testing phase.

The testers may keep the Automower after the end of the testing phase in November, provided that they document their experiences by giving feedback in video form every 15 days. Excluded from applying are garden owners who use pesticides.

A Strong Team: Mowing Robot and Fertilizer

At the spoga+gafa 2015 in Cologne, the German market leader in fertilizers, Compo, presented a new compound especially designed for lawns that are cared for by robotic lawnmowers.

Without distraction they are sliding over the grass and turn a previously tedious chore into leisure time for garden owners: fully automatic robotic lawnmowers can be controlled via smartphone or tablet and are a comfortable option for every garden. With them, there is no need to pick up the leftover clippings because they act as natural fertilizers. But usually this is not enough, the lawn needs additional nutrients. While after the use of a robo-mower the lawn looks thicker, there still is a long-term need for elements like nitrogen and iron.

Compo is now offering a fertilizer that is especially useful for lawns that are cared for by robotic mowers. This organic-mineral long-term fertilizer has been created with a balanced nutrition-formula that provides for a healthy and resistant lawn. Because of the Isodur-technology, the lawn is cared for seriously for three full months.

Ryobi presents new hybrid lawnmower – both electrical and cordless

With the new hybrid lawnmower RLM18C34H25 by Ryobi the user has two options: the device can be operated with two 18 volt lithium polymer accumulators or with electric cable – whatever the landscape requires. The battery power increases the mobility in the maintenance of lawns that are small and hardly accessible. Open spaces and areas that are overgrown with high, thick grass can be mowed with electrical wire.

On the lawnmower’s grip there is a battery charge level display. Thus the operator can check the remaining power at any time. The batteries belong to the Ryobi system ONE+ and can be used with more than 35 electrical gardening tools. Every compatible device of the ONE+ series is available separately – without battery and recharger. The hybrid lawnmower RLM18C34H25 mows with a cutting width of 34 centimeters. The EasyEdge feature allows users to cut perfectly along edges, ensuring consistent and neat cutting results. The grass catcher has a capacity of 45 Liters. The hardtop improves the intake of clippings.

Robolinho® 4000: High-Performance Robotic Lawn Mower by AL-KO

The fully automated robotic lawn mower Robolinho® 4000 takes care of green areas of up to 2.000 square meters.

Every garden enthusiast knows that gardening can be fun and the exercise helps you to stay in shape. But for some people this work can become a tedious chore, especially for people who are physically not able to work that much. The Robolinho® 4000 by AL-KO can make gardening much easier.

The 4000 is the largest of the fully automated mowing robots made by AL-KO. It can mow up to 2.000 square meters of lawn, no matter the time of day or the weather. It is equipped with a double-blade technology, which helps fertilizing the lawn: The cut blades of grass are getting chaffed inside the Robolinho and then blown out again, turning into natural fertilizer. The lawn doesn’t dry out anymore, keeps its shape and no green waste has to be disposed. The robot is easy to handle and the cutting height can be adjusted from three to six centimeters.

The Robolinho® 4000 finds his own way back to the recharge station. It can go up slopes of up to 35 degrees without effort and it detects and bypasses obstacles by itself. A code protects the robot from theft.
