Art of Minimalism

Japanese culture inspired this outdoor furniture collection.

The Buddhist school of Zen is occupied with a form of meditation that has no objects. This means that when practising, the disciple is „just sitting“, not focusing on anything. This way the mind becomes empty and deep insights can be gained. In Zen monasteries, this form is represented on the outside through minimalist furnishings. Clear and simple forms without any distractions dominate the buildings and surrounding gardens.

The SAN collection by the Belgian outdoor furniture manufacturer Manutti recreates this atmosphere of calmness. Timeless but modern, it combines minimalism and elegance. The latest work of the designer Lionel Doyen is made to match with many different styles – indoors and outdoors.

The Iroko wood seatings are held together by powder coated aluminum frames. The seats have a low height and can be arranged in countless combinations. Bench, couch or lounger, nothing is set in stone. The cushions are not fixed, can be switched around and are available in different colours. The tables can be clipped on and are available in polished black Portoro marble or white Carrara marble.
