Goicoechea Pottery by Degardo: Handmade Terracotta from the Country

The plant pot manufacturer from East-Westphalia presents unique pottery with rural charm.

Between the Pyrenees mountains and the green valleys of the Basque country is the location of the Goicoechea pottery, a traditional family enterprise for over half a century. Degardo now presents their handmade terracotta planters. The unique shapes and sizes (from S to XXL) of the products offer solutions for many design scenarios. Whether it’s the small and medium pots from the JARDIN assortment in natural colour terracotta, or the exclusive, glazed large pots from the XXL collection that can be tailored to the customer’s wishes.

Pots from the JARDIN and XXL collections fit well into many different environments. JARDIN encompasses mainly the small and medium sized pots which are made using a turning/pressing process. There are angular designs available in addition to circular shapes. The XXL pots are made using a unique rope technique. On request, they can be finished with structural surfaces and baked-on glazes. Both the JARDIN and XXL collections are made exclusively with pure original Goicoechea terracotta. Even the colouring is unrefined. According to Degardo, this is probably the highest quality winter-resistant terracotta in Europe.

At the past spoga+gafa 2016, visitors were delighted by Degardo’s new Goicoechea pottery as well as their other product lines.
