EcoQube Air: Hydroponics for the Desktop

This small hydroponic greenhouse was designed to provide an ideal environment for indoor plants.

Plants are the best providers of clean air and oxygen inside living spaces. The developers of the EcoQube Air aimed to optimize this positive effect of home greenery. The miniature greenhouse is made for plant lovers who have only small indoor space or those who like something more stylish and effective than a simple plant pot on their desk.

The EcoQube Air helps to improve the air quality in the room. Its Air-Flow system utilizes a three step filtration process. First the air enters through a HEPA-like mechanical filter that removes dust, pollen and mold. Next, the activated carbon filter removes harmful chemicals. Finally the plant filters and  oxygenates the air before being circulated back into the room with the help of dual filters. According to the developers, the EcoQube circulates 450 cubic feet (~13 m³) of room air every hour.

An induction pump allows a quiet water flow and superbright LEDs provide customizable coloured lights without the need of direct sunlight. A fully integrated mobile app allows the automation of the EcoQube care.

The Kickstarter project has already collected more than ten times the needed amount and the final product is expected to ship in autumn.
