The extensive product assortment of Birchmeier AG extends from small hand spray devices to spray systems for carrying on the back or on carts and is used worldwide in the house or garden, in agriculture, in the most varied trades and in industry. The traditional Swiss company can look back on over 140 years of history. It has won many awards for innovation during this time. Jürg Zwahlen has been the main shareholder and president of the board of directors since 2003.

From pruning shears to chainsaws, through to robotic lawnmowers or ride-on mowers – the specialised department “Garden and Lawn Care Appliances” of the Industrieverband Garten (IVG) e.V. (Industry Garden Association) unites all of the manufacturers of products that are needed for the care of a beautiful garden. The core themes of the specialised department are market development, technology, sales, consumer and environmental protection. We talked to George Brown, the department’s technical officer.

Konni van Delft was born in North Germany, has however been living in the Netherlands since the mid 1970s. The florist has been working as a freelance visual merchandiser since 1986. She advises garden centre in the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Italy. Sales presentations and cross-selling as well as employee training are her special areas in these sections.

The master florist from Düsseldorf, Manfred Hoffmann, is a floristic all-rounder. He is employed by the Fachverband Deutscher Floristen (German Trade Association of Florists) as Creative Director and is involved in a wide range of projects: He develops design lines, manages product developments, is involved in the drafting and realisation of trade fair presentations, holds lectures, is the author of various trade publications and takes on an advisory function for many important association issues. In his home town Hoffmann additionally runs two flower shows called “A la Casa del Flore”.
