spoga+gafa 2018 presented the entire world of the garden again from 2 to 4 September in Halls 1 to 10 and on two additional outdoor areas. In the scope of our photo galleries we would like to give you a brief overview of the past exhibition days and the diversity of the range of products offered: creation & care, garden bbq, garden living und garden unique – these are the theme areas that could be discovered at the trade fair.

In the garden creation & care segment everything revolved around plants, their cultivation and of course their care again. In addition to the garden equipment and the necessary machines and tools, everything on the theme of living green can traditionally be found here – right through to biochemistry and soils. The new theme island IVG Power Place Green fitted in thematically. As in the past years, eco-friendly and natural gardening was a major theme in 2018. For example, many exhibitors presented soils with reduced amounts of peat or bee-friendly plant protection products. The Landgard producers’ cooperative had a new emphasis in 2018: The focus lay on modern floristry, international customers and concepts to do with flowers and plants. The trade visitors were once again able to inform themselves about innovative technologies and smart solutions for outdoor lighting, lawn care and irrigation at the IVG Power Place Akku and Smart Gardening World theme islands.

spoga+gafa 2018 also offered the visitors the world’s largest interrelated range of products from the area of grills & BBQs again. In Halls 7 and 8 as well as in the adjacent outdoor areas in addition to the well-known global players, also smaller interesting manufacturers presented their new products. As in the past years it was evident that diversity remains to be the major bbq theme. Whether charcoal, gas or electric – of course the main focus lies above all on the preparation of meat, but more and more vegetarians are also discovering their passion for BBQs, so the exhibitors had introduced more grill pans for vegetables, vegetable holders and baskets, pizza stones or wok/BBQ systems to their line-ups. A wide range of Kamado grills, smokers and fire plates were also offered. Complete kitchen units outdoors are currently the dream of many garden owners. In this connection, the offer in the Outdoor Kitchen World in Hall 8 left no wishes unanswered: Various manufacturers presented their modular systems here, which in addition to the grill also offered worktops, fridges, bins, runnignn water and even beer taps. The BBQ shows of famous chefs, vloggers and BBQ book authors ensured there was a good mood and impressed with culinary delights.

 

garden living

The garden living section was the largest segment at spoga+gafa and it offered a complete overview of the theme life in the garden. It comprised of garden furniture, decorations and new products from the sport and games section as well as camping and leisure items. Remarkable in the light of the new products presented: The theme lifestyle becomes increasingly more present in the garden. Pure relaxation is the motto in the green living-room. Because in the meantime outdoor furniture is on a par with its role models from the indoor section. Classic relaxation furniture such as rocking chairs or hammocks of modern design are experiencing a revival. Thanks to innovative high-tech materials or novel plastics the furniture is becoming more durable. Furthermore, rattan is still extremely popular among the materials. The classic wickerwork is being reinterpreted. Wicker and chain patterns are also gaining in popularity for accessories. On the other hand bright cushions add colourful highlights. The garden furniture itself often come in extremely bright colours – and in the still prevailing muted shades grey, brown and beige.

In the garden unique segment furniture items of strong design with a well-being factor were exhibited again. Exclusive presentations of premium outdoor furniture were the focus in Hall 10.2. Whether on the terrace or balcony, cosiness is an important aspect of the current models. Generous reclining surfaces, gladly also on ground level nowadays, promise pure relaxation. These are accompanied by accessories that often fulfil more than one purpose, as well as filigree silhouettes in the dining section. The Outdoor Furniture Trend Show and the “Icons of Outdoor Furniture” special event were further highlights in the garden unique segment. The trends of tomorrow and furniture icons of the present day came to life at the premiere of this special event. An international expert jury had selected the garden furniture with special functions or materials. An own “Icons of Outdoor Furniture” special event formed the fitting setting for the current trend highlights. It presented the best-selling and most stylish garden furniture of current and also former spoga+gafa exhibitors.
